Joslyn Art Museum

The Henry Doorly Zoo
The world-class Henry Doorly Zoo sits on 130 acres and is home to more than 600 species. The species range from the Antarctic Penguins, a vast array of tropical fish, to creatures found in the rain forests and jungles of Asia, Africa, Australia and South America. The zoo offers a variety of different climates...The Scott Kingdom of the Seas Aquarium, the country's second largest tropical reef tank, with the country's largest clear acrylic under-water tunnel to view the sharks above. The Lied Jungle, the country's second largest indoor rain forest covering a massive 1.5 acres. The country's largest free flight aviary, plus a rare collection of white tigers. Take a ride on the steam engine train for a tour of the zoo. The latest addition to the property is a six story tall IMAX 3-D theatre. The Zoo also has a drive-through safari park and breeding facility 25 miles west of Omaha.
UNO Maverick Hockey
The newest addition to the Omaha sports scene is the NCAA Division 1 UNO Mavericks hockey team. Coach Mike Kemp who directed the hockey club program at UNO in 1975-76 won over the selection committee with his enthusiasm, commitment and background and was re-hired to coach the team.
NCAA College World Series
Each June, Omaha hosts the NCAA College World Series. The winners of eight regional tournaments battle for the title of the NCAA Men's Baseball Championship. This event has been attended by players and fans from all over the country since the early 1950's.
Go Big Red
The largest spectator sport in the region. This explains the miles of back-to-back cars on I-80 on game day. The Nebraska Cornhusker fans fill the Lincoln Memorial Stadium, just 50 miles southwest of Omaha. The Huskers are five time National Champions and always looking for another.
The Old Market
The historic Old Market offers a great afternoon or evening get-away with brick paved streets, flower gardens, and horse drawn carriages. With many outdoor dining patios and street performers and artists, a visit to Old Market makes for a unique experience, again and again. If you are looking for a good dinner, desert, or just a cup of coffee, visit one of the many cafe's in the neighborhood. Window shop at any of the bookstores, candy stores, or other specialty shops.
The Durham Museum
Housed in the Old Union Station, the nation's first restored art deco railway station, became a museum in 1975. The three permanent exhibits document Omaha history from 1880 to 1954. The Coming of Age exhibit covers the years 1880 to 1898.
